| Our 2011 AGM was held at the Country Club on Monday 31st January. More than 20 of our members enjoyed a nice Thai lunch (on the house) in the Club's magnificent dining room overlooking the par 5 9th hole. The following were elected: President: Alan Bohlsen Vice President: John Warne Secretary: Christine Robinson Treasurer: Joyotee Smith Director: Didier Pinet Committee Member: Robby Walter The main topic of discussion was where we should hold our games. A venue somewhere between Rawai and Boat Lagoon was the main criterium. The choice has come down to continuing at the Country Club, but paying a lower fee for use of the room. Or Au des Lys french bakery where they have a large un-used room that requires about 70,000 baht to renovate. The majority of those at the meeting, plus a number of proxy votes from absent members chose the former. Alan Bohlsen has offered to negotiate with the Country Club and will have an answer at out next cards session on Friday. It was also decided that new members should pay a joining fee. The amount will be decided by the committee. The meeting closed at 1.00pm and was followed by an afternoon of cards. | |
